This is a top-of-the-line solar water heater for all of your hot water needs. One unit is enough for an average household, but if you need more, you can add a second unit because the system is modular. This high-tech unit uses the sun’s heat to raise the temperature in an evacuated glass “heat tube”. This heat is then directly transferred to the water, heating it up in the process. The temperature can exceed 212°F (100°C)!!
The evacuated tubes act like giant thermos, allowing 93% of the sun’s radiation in, but only 3 to 5% out. Thermal conduction and convection losses are almost nothing (under 2%) because of the vacuum gap. This design allows the system to work in very low temperatures (down to about -40°F!), unlike tradition flat plate solar collector units.
The interior of the primary storage tank is food-grade stainless steel, and the exterior and the mounting brackets are made of industrial-grade stainless steel. The insulation of the tank is formed by compressed foam materials injected under high temperatures and pressure creating an effective R80 insulation, without any possibility of air bubbles and heat loss.
This unit is non-pressurized, so it can easily fit without a separate storage tank, a variety of transfer fluids, circulation pumps, pressure equalizers, etc. which simplifies installation and eliminates the possibility of contamination of your water with glycols and other antifreeze liquids.
Evacuated tube solar collectors can provide useful hot water during all 12 months of the year! As long as the sun is shining, the AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AND CLOUDS ARE IRRELEVANT! This unit works with the infrared spectrum and will work great on overcast days or even rainy days.
