Rechargeable batteries are not only better for the environment, but they are better for your pocketbook. Granted, you wont save any money the first year of use, but its pure savings every year thereafter. Not only that, but you are keeping tons of toxic waste (alkaline batteries) out of the landfills. If your are thinking that battery chargers use a lot of energy and that energy will eat into your savings, your just wrong. Battery chargers barely use enough energy to even mention (less than $1 per year for +40 batteries, continually charging). There are also solar battery chargers which use no electricity and can be used when camping or away from an outlet.
