Use Low VOC

One aspect of living green that is often overlooked, is indoor air quality. Most people don’t think twice about buying cleaning chemicals, paint and other poisonous liquids, but the fact is, most indoor air is more polluted than outside air. Now good ventilation will take care of this “sick house” syndrome, but why not stop it where it starts and use low VOC products. VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds and they are found in most oil and water based paints and many other cleaning chemicals and they are not healthy. VOCs leach out and pollute the local air, so next time you are purchasing paint or cleaning products, look for low VOC options. They are generally more expensive, but isn’t your health worth it?
