Hibernation is a special function built into Microsoft Windows system to save time and energy. The reason I love hibernation so much is because it is much quicker than shutting down and it starts up quicker too. When you hibernate your computer, it basically takes a picture of everything that that you have open and saves it to the hard drive and shuts the computer off. That way when it starts up again, it does not have to go through an entire boot up sequence. This makes “Automatic Hibernation” a great, green function to automatically shut down your computer when you haven’t used it in a specified amount of time. So, set your computer to hibernate when you are not around and you can save a lot of wasted electricity and lower your utility costs.
