Don’t Top Off Your Gass Tank

If you are like most people, you tend to keep filling your gas tank even after the automatic shutoff kicks on. This is not a good idea, because the automatic shutoff is there for a reason, a really good reason. Basically the gas in the gas tank in a vehicle needs a certain amount of room to expand and if you fill your tank too much you are restricting the gases ability to expand, creating additional pressures and eventually leaks. By filling up all the way you are contributing more toxic emissions than if you would just stop filling up. So, next time your filling up, listed to the pump and stop when it says stop.
