You would’t believe the things I see people stuff in their trash and dumpsters. For instance, sometimes people throw out perfectly good toys after their children outgrow. Try to sell these items or donate them rather than throwing them out.
For financial reasons I resell everything that I can. That means clothes, toys, anything that is outgrown, and also things that could be repaired by SOMEONE, just not by me.
Ah my mom loves a good dumpster dive. She finds good use for just about everything.
She also uses this website, freecycle.com, to get things that people are getting rid of for free! She tries to do her share and give away things too.
We take anything that would be usable to the goodwill. I have heard of freecycle also, although I have not used it.
Before we get rid of something, we always ask friends/family if they have a need for it.
I don’t throw out anything that can be used by someone else. That doesn’t make any sense. I give items to charitable organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, or my church. Someone else can always use what I no longer need.
There is a Red Cross bin near a secondhand clothing store which I take a lot of clothes to (the bin, not the store). I also donate old toys and other usables to a local secondhand store run by nuns who use the money in their charities and such. It’s great, because I just want to get rid of the stuff and I don’t care for the trouble to run a yard sale and I’m happy that someone gets the use of it.
it depends for me. Sell then donate in that order. If you sell your items you can then purchase what you need from that money. I do not think that you should have to give it away.
Sometimes I just want to get rid of my old stuff and I don’t care if I get any money or not. It’s already served the purpose I bought it for and I feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of it, and I hate running yard sales and stuff, so for me, giving it away to the church or the firehall or whoever wants it, is a total deal. It’s out of my way and that’s my bottom line.
I never throw anything out if it’s not broken or unusable. I like to sell some items on Ebay, just because I could definitely use the money. If it doesn’t sell on Ebay, I’ll save it for the annual yard sale that we’re allowed to have. If it doesn’t sell there, I’ll donate it to one of the local thrift stores here.
I try to recycle as much as I can. Anytime I do a spring cleaning I will seperate stuff into piles and figure out in which direction they need to go. The very last resort is the trash. I really try to find a good home for everything.
I would never throw anything out, but to be honest, the real reason is probably that I’m lazy and I don’t like to let go of things. I have been selling various things on eBay lately though and it seems to be working out.
when my kids were growing-up every year we would go through their stuff and separate the things they have outgrown and the toys that they won’t be using anymore, and we would give them all away. sometimes donate them or hand them over to younger cousins and friends.
It is the seller’s responsibility to provide a clean title at the time of sale/donation. It is the only proof that the seller actually owns the vehicle
