[quote author=“Slowspinner”]Although energy saving bulbs are an answer you need to be careful when purchasing, there have been documented instances of interference with other
devices around the home such as remote controls. I believe this is due to emissions in the infra red spectrum whch is where most remote controls operate

Did you know which brands these were? Are there any brands that will not cause interference? I have really been wanting to switch over also, the cost is a main factor for us at the moment.

There are so many benefits to using them, you do not change light bulbs as often is my favorite. yes you may end up having to wait a couple more seconds for them to come on. But I think in the long run it not only helps you but the planet as well.

I’ve been slowly switching over to more energy efficient lightbulbs and I think they’re worth the extra initial expense. It’ll take me time—there are a lot of rooms in my house—but we’re getting there.

Actually buying bulbs each week is a very good idea. I think that is the quickest way to replace those bulbs without having to do it all at one time. Thanks for the great idea I really appreciate it.

I have to say i haven’t been a big fan of energy saving light bulbs in he past mainly due to them being very dull for the first few minutes.

Are there some out there which offer the qualities of energy saving but are nice and bright to start with?
