I was thinking about some ways of water conservation and this is what came in my mind:
-repair any leaky faucets
-we can use a bucket instead of a hose when we wash our car, I mean think about all that wasted water just to clean a little spot.
-we can stop throwing things in the toilet like the ashtray, this will save a lot of water
-we can also stop using water to defrost things
I can’t think of anything else, please come with new ideeas.

This si great because these are things that can be done every day. we can stop leaving the water running while we wash vegetables or we can turn off the water while brushing our teeth, these type of small things count the most.

we can also try rainwater harvesting, I read that rainwater is better and it improves the soil because it disolves the fluoride and salinity.
another thing that we can do is to water our plants with the water we used to wash vegetables.
it is very important to teach our friends and families to do the same thing

Wow this is a great topic. I try to conserve water but what is the point when other people waste milions of gallons?

yes but you know what we say: every drop counts so maybe you think it doesn’t matter but in time if more people do this we will see the effects.

I hear what you are saying Laurent1, but take what gianni said and think about ways you can use the naturally given rain water and move it throughout your yard to get the most from it.

I saw a really great video the other day about harvesting rainwater and basically the guy learned how to take a very dry arid site (in Arizona Desert) and use the rainwater to create a huge botanical garden.

He graded the land on his site to move the water in a zig zag motion across the site rather than just having it quickly rush accross the site and not get soaked up by the soil. This way at each zig he would store a little in a burried oil can and use that water to hydrate plants to help draw toxins out of the soil and water (bioremediation) while also using that water to grow food.

i think that is incredible. to live in a dry aria such as Arizona and manage to create a botanical garden. that guy is an inspiration to us all. if he did it we can do it and maybe we can do more because some of us don’t even live in very dry arias.

Even if we could convince only 0.01% of the world’s population to conserve small amounts of water in this way, it would be very valuable indeed. It’s one of those things that anybody can do, and with a little encouragement and advertising, huge amounts of wasted water could be saved every single day. Not only are we using less water, but less resources are needed to clean it and pump it to our homes. In addition to that, us poor people on water meters would have smaller bills to pay

If a lawn is going to be watered, it would be best not to water it when the sun is out, to avoid the water just evaporating before it’s absorbed into the ground.

And when planning landscaping, reducing the area of lawn and using more patio stones or rock gardens could help conserve water, too.

Our ways of conserving water

- The water we used for washing the clothes are the ones we used for cleaning our bathroom.

- we use glasses when brushing our teeth

- we have a water tank to store rainwater for cleaning use

- we always see to it that our faucets dont have leak
