When you do not use electricity or unplug any device then electricity is not consumed and this unused electricity increase the voltage of the line. Then the it is minimized by stopping any power producing device. Thus it saves fuels and energy.

well its not every device, its things like CD players, VCR’s, DVD players, basically anything with a clock or 12 volt led lights that stay illuminated even when it is turned off. All of those clocks, LEDs and displays eat up alot of energy because they are on all of the time.

Totally agree

Even LEDs and displays eat a little energy once day, but it may take it more in a long time

I agree with unplugging appliances when not in use. If they are plugged in even when not in use they are still using 25% electricity.

We must select the smallest product for our needs to cut energy consumption and protect the environment. For example two different sized fridges can have the same efficiency rating, but generally the smaller size one will use less energy and cost less to run.
