Okay, so the weather is warming up (ignoring the frost yesterday morning) and I’m thinking it’s time to start walking more and driving less. Church is only about a km away with a valley in the middle so I get an uphill climb both ways—good exercise. Now all I have to do is stick to this notion.
It’s all good to talk about it, but I find it hard to do too. I do something for a while, but when it comes to exercise I hate it! Good luck, it’s a good plan.
We walk a lot. I personally do not drive in this country and so I have little choice but to use my feet as my primary form of transportation. If I could take a bus instead I would do it, but this tiny little town has no public transportation at all. It’s terrible!
I always drive when I have to go long distances, but I’m not opposed to walking distances shorter than a mile. I like to get some exercise, so I’ll drive to the park and walk where it’s safer to walk for recreation.
My buddy in New York could not afford to run his car anymore, so he started to use the subway and walk a year later everything has changed he has lost about 50 pounds , looks great, feels better and gets more women , there are side benifits to saving the planet. Perhaps the slogan should be ‘dont drive, save the planet, have more girls’
I don’t drive that often, just when I need to: to work, to school and to my girlfriend’s house. (she lives in another state so I really can’t walk, sorry guys.)
Due to limited funds and the high cost of gas, it’s $2.95 here I have been walking more as opposed to taking the bus and have lost 25lbs. I do look and feel alot better. I also ride the bus when it’s to far to walk. When on the bus I often see people who are over weight ride the bus one block and get off, I wonder to myself why didn’t you keep that $1 and walk?
I like to walk I find that helps my mind to solve problems, it helps to keep the weight down and it keeps more money in my pocket, I had noticed the price of gas until today, that’s alot of money. I would even use a scooter to keep from paying those prices.
well, i must say it’s a nice topic selection. i support them who are in the favor of walking. i prefer walking mere that driving of riding. you know i walk at least ten miles a day.
Just think. You can leave that couch behind, get great exercise,
improve your health and fitness…and start to feel great again.
The benefits of walking are all for free!
Constant exercise has been a great challenge for me. After I quit playing football back in high school I then started to feel tired going to the field and play or just even jogging / brisk walking. I really feel that I need to go back to my good physical training habits. I grew more than thirty pounds in just a matter of months after I quit football.
Here in the Philippines, I don’t know if the air is still healthy to live in. There are a lot of cars, trucks and motorcycles. When you’re in Metro manila, it’s hard to breathe or should I say, the air is dirty. I just hope that there’s still a solution for this problem.
