How do you dry your laundry? Do you own a dryer, and if so, are there different settings that you use to make it more energy efficient? Or do you dry your laundry outside on a line?

When I was younger, my mom dried our laundry outside, however it would always leave our clothing stiff. Since I live in an apartment, I use a public facility.

I have a clothesline, but I don’t use it very much. Most of the time, the weather isn’t cooperative—too wet or too cold or too something or other—and I rely on my old dryer. I would like to buy a new one very soon and I should probably use my line now that nicer weather is trying to happen.

We do part dryer, part indoor line. Some things really benefit from a tumble-towels and diapers and so on, but we finish them on the line or they take 2 or 3 cycles to dry.

I have a clothesline, but don’t use it much either. It’s helpful during the summer, and I can get more laundry done that way. If it’s too cold, though, I use a dryer.

I use a drying machine If you use a clothes line my clothes always come out wrinkled and not dried out all the way. I would rather “waste” some fuel to get the job done right with my dryer.

I use our dryer all the time. I have kids to take care of so I need to finish the laundry before they are awake. smile

I do not have a dryer right now and I think I like it that way.  But there are times with having my daughter and all when it would help to have a dryer if there is something I Need to try in a hurry.

We have a dyer and a clothes line and use them both.  Heavy items that will take a long time to dry in the machine are hung on the line if it is nice out side.  It saves on the utility bills to not the dryer for longer periods of time for the heavy items.

I do not own any dryer at home. I’m not fond of owning a dryer because I want to dry it under the heat of the sun.
Since it won’t have a bad smell/odor if it is going to be dried under the heat of the sun. When clothes are dried on a dryer it has the tendency to smell bad. It is still best to dry our clothes under the heat of the sun.

I’m thankful that we have a big yard in our house so yes, we still air dry our laundry. But even if we do have to have our laundry done outside the house, I know that the cleaners I go to use the natural air-drying method too. It saves ‘em on electricity that way. smile
