How Extreme is Too Extreme?

In the thread I started on Geothermal energy, we saw thanks to Adam that a home’s heating and cooling could be completely carbon neutral. But for an existing home, it would be major work, and would cause major disruption to house and home life.

Other things too take a great deal of adjustment to make the things work for you, or rather, so that you learn to work for the good of the planet.

So I am wondering; for you, how extreme is too extreme?

We have read here that washing diapers is too much for some and I read fairly often that convenience is all that matters to all too many people. So what changes are YOU willing to make?

Hell ill do it all, except not drive. But Ill get an electric car as soon as I can afford it. Until then Ill stick with my fuel catalyst and oxy-hydrogen addon.

I cant wait until I can actually design my own home, it will be one green beast.

I do believe that we shouldnt have to loose alot of convenience to be green, I know there are ways to do what we need to do while not really being inconvenianced. I must say that about the diapers, I had to tell my wife that I would do the washing for her to go for it.

The funny thing is that I dont think people realize, that if we dont change now (while we can do it gradually and comfortably) we will HAVE to change eventually, and it will NOT be pretty or convenient. So, why not start making changes now, gradually?

I agree that some changes must be made now. We must take action in order to preserve our environment, because changes are inevitable.

I also think that convenience is a major issue. I am willing to make an effort in changing, however, I will not make changes that make my life too much more difficult. If it comes down to interfering at an extreme level with my daily functioning, I will most likely not do it.
