Scientists have noticed a large sheet of ice starting to melt in Antarctica that could cause a dramatic rise in the world’s oceans. They believe that the thinning is caused by warm winds that are blowing over Antarctica. According the article these winds could be the result of various environmental factors including global warming.

It’s frightening how quickly some of these effects are becoming noticable - Just twenty years ago the whole issue of global warming was seldom mentioned outside of Green Peace yet now it’s in the news every day and everyone from scientists to politicians are starting to get worried about the long-term effects.

Thanks for the link Renae.

It is quite frightening how the events are unfolding in regards to global warming. I know that there’s no way to stop it, because it’s inevitable. It’s just scary to think of how the world is changing.

If the people in charge would actually do somthing this wouldn’t be happening. They are too worried about fighting than saving.

They have also noticed that these ice caps also melt at night time when the temperatures are way below freezing so something seems to be wrong here…I think we are being deceived.

[quote author=“Forgive Darkness”]They have also noticed that these ice caps also melt at night time when the temperatures are way below freezing so something seems to be wrong here…I think we are being deceived.

That’s rather weird…I don’t think anything is capable of actually melting unless there’s a heat source somewhere.  My mind screams conspiracy!

I’m still forming an opinion on Global Warming as a whole, considering the ice age and it’s multiple climate changes coming around when there weren’t even humans to affect the shifting planet.  There’s evidence that the Earth was warmer during Roman Times, enough to melt the glaciers in the Alps, in spite of the fact that at that time, there was no carbon dioxide floating around.  So…who knows?  I certainly don’t.

I think it is due to the Global warming. I guess about 60% of the world is aware about such a phenomena but still no one is taking a stand about this. I think, just like everything else, even with this one we will do something when the things have already gone worst.
