Does anyone use these? I wanted to try to do add something to my household that would actually help. I saw an infomercial a few days ago about the Oreck air purifier and wondered if they actually worked. I think it would help especially since there is so much dust that accumulates.

Never tried them myself, however they have received good reviews from others I know who have tried it. They use it for their dust allergies and have had much success. It never hurts to give it a try, as long as it does not break you in cost. No clue how much they are but I am familiar with the brand and their products usually are very good.

I have never used one, and no nothing about them really. I wanted to come and see if I could learn a lot more about them as well. I hope we get some more information in here about this. Thanks for what we have so far.

I’m sorry, but what do they do exactly?

Re: Air purifiers?

I tried that oreck air purifier, and I got it because I have asthma. I was having Asthma attacks nightly, so I figured it might help. I tried it out for 4-5 days, but it didn’t help, so I returned it.

We had mole in our house and I used an air purifer and felt it help alot with the stale odor and the smoking odors.  I would use one again if I felt the air was not good in the house.  This article tells how the purifer works and the different types of purifers available;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_purifier

I have a couple Ionic Breeze units in my house and they work great, in fact better than the noisy canister ones CR says are the best.
